Olivia Rodrigues, Ph.D.
Instructor
Olivia Rodrigues graduated with a BA in Biology, obtained her Ph.D in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Lisbon, Portugal. She enjoyed bridging science and technology and went on to focus in specializing in Flow Cytometry and began working in and managing Flow Cytometry Shared Resource Laboratories in academic institutions both in Europe and the US. Olivia has gained valuable experience over the past years in biotech industry, building and expanding flow cytometry platforms in biopharmaceutical companies dedicated to developing gene and cellular immunotherapies to patients with cancer. She has used her cell sorting experience to help develop off-the-shelf, iPSC-derived cell products, including iPSC-derived iNK, iT and Car T cell product candidates.
Olivia is currently Associate Director of Cell Therapy Analytical Development at Turnstone Biologics, an early clinical stage biotechnology company, developing next generation tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) therapies for treating solid tumors. She is heavily involved in supporting GMP-cell sorting manufacturing operations for the isolation of neoantigen reactive TILs and developing innovative analytical/sorting methods for product characterization, product selection and expansion of autologous TILs against tumor antigens for adoptive T cell therapy in cancer patients.
